Logan & Sarah Smith Logan & Sarah Smith
3 An Griannan
Dungarvan, CO
Ireland

We have now been in Ireland three years! And we are excited with what the Lord has for us at this stage. We have connected and partnered with another missionary couple (Cliff and Ericka Gregston), and the four of us are currently church planting here in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. There have been many missionaries to this area before us, most without a single convert after lengthy stays, and all save one couple have left because of the animosity toward anyone who is not Catholic. But we are thankful for their work of plowing the land and sowing the seeds, for we have several who are coming to our bible study on a regular basis.

Logan is currently working at a company called RoadStone, which is the third largest company in Ireland, and Sarah is in full-time ministry and also writes full-time. These activities are ones that all four of us, Cliff and Ericka Gregston, and Logan and Sarah Smith, lead and participate in.
  • We have church services every Sunday in Dungarvan. These are the first evangelical services in this area.
  • We run a youth center (Ballinroad Youth Club) on Friday nights where we have anywhere from six to eleven kids that show up and have the opportunity not only to play games and have fun, but to talk about real life issues. Suicide is at epidemic levels in Ireland, and it has affected nearly every one of the teens we have spoken with. Teen pregnancy and drinking are also huge issues in this country, and we are attempting, through relationships with the kids, to help them combat and overcome these issues.
  • Logan has been in contact with a biker ministry here in Co. Waterford which has asked him to help them out when he gets his bike over.
  • Sarah runs writers’ workshops from September to May, and has established connections with the arts community in Dungarvan.
  • Sarah had finished and published a fantasy novel.
We plan to be committed to Dungarvan for ten years at the least, and for life, if the Lord doesn’t call us elsewhere. Commitment is a major theme for both Logan and Sarah, as we are both in awe over and inspired by Jesus’ commitment to us. We would love to have people, churches, ministries, etc. partner with us in our journey as missionaries in Ireland for this long haul we call life!
